Short description
The Master in International Economy and Business is a 4-semester-long training programme, taught fully in English. The programme consists of compulsory, elective and optional courses, thesis consultation, and thesis writing. The MSc degree is obtained by successfully defending the thesis and passing the final exam.

- business and management, human resources, commerce and marketing, finance and accounting, tourism and catering, business education, practical economics, economic theory and public service from the study field of economic sciences and international studies BSc programme from the study field of sociology.
- 4.3. Other programmes that may be considered based on the completed credits defined in 9.4.:
- Those bachelor and master level programmes along with college level bachelor programmes in accordance with the Higher Education Act No. 80/1993 of Hungary that are accepted by the credit transfer committee of the institution based on the overlapping of the study material.

The aim of this master programme is to train economics professionals capable of making economic analyses in an international framework utilising their fundamental knowledge of international-, micro- and macroeconomics, European integration, international law and business. Their developed competencies make them capable of independent work within different fields and levels of economic institutions while also being able to make analyses, lay the groundwork for decisions and manage shipping tasks. Graduates of the MSc programme are professionally prepared to continue their studies in the PhD programme.

- has a firm grasp on the concepts, theories, processes and characteristics of economics and the economy in general on a micro and macro level; the student is up to date with the defining economic facts.
- understands the stucture, operationg process and relationships (domestic and international) of economic organisations along with their motivations and information related factors with a special emphasis on institutional environment.
- is familiar with the process of European integration and the specific policies of the European Union.
- is familiar with the up-to-date, theoretically sound, mathematics-statistics based and econometric modelling methods (along with their limitations) of recognising, expressing and solving problems along with data collection and processing.

The student is familiar with the framework provided by other professional fields (law, regional development, education) connected to international enterprises.
- Besides being a proficient language user in his/her mother tongue the student has a good command of the linguistic terms used in economics both in his/her mother tongue and at least two foreign languages.

- can make independent and new deductions, formulate original thougths and solution methods, utilise sophisticated analitical and modelling methods. The student is capable of formulating solution strategies for complex problems and decisions within the organisational culture both in a domestic and an international setting;

The student is also capable of planning and directing economic processes along with managing resources;

- 9.1. Professional characteristics

- 9.1.1. Scientific fields contributing to the professional degree as part of the training programme:

- economics and methodology (quantitative methods, econometrics, economic policy, political economy, economic theories, international economy, international finance, decision theory, research methodology) 20-40 credits;
- professional knowledge of international economy and management (theory of market analysis and international business environment, organisation and execution of regional integrational analysis, comparative methods and main theories of global economic development, forms of international economy and the business information system, the basics, forms and effects of international financial processes, leading and influencing international institutions while analysing their effect mechanisms, learning about and utilising methodologies employed in social sciences along with their newest professional results, company-related, regional and world economic aspects of developmental economics) 30-45 credits.
- 9.1.2. The maximum credit ratio of specialised professional fields and modules within the programme is 30-45 credits.

- 9.2. Requirements concerning internship
- The programme may include a professional internship. The requirements of the internship are governed by the curriculum of the programme.
- 9.4. For students possessing degrees detailed in points 4.2. and 4.3. the minimal entry requirements for the master’s training programme are as follows.
- Entering a master’s programme that is different from the bachelor’s requires a minimum number (45) of acquired credits from the below fields:
- economics and methodology (micro- and macroeconomics, international economy, theoretical economics, history of economic theories, economic policy, mathematics, statistics, informatics): at least 18 credits;
- basic business studies (finance, corporate finance, corporate economics, marketing, accounting, leadership and organisation, human resource management): at leasr 12 credits;
- professional studies: at least 15 credits.
The student is not eligible for the master’s programme unless he/she has completed at least 15 credits from the above listed fields. The missing credits for the master’s programme shall be earned according to the Academic and Examination Regulation of the higher education institution.
